The Jaya Bhava, the House of Marriage and the Spouse
The seventh bhava is the seventh of the twelve houses, a domain of life rather than a mere astronomical division. It is known as jaya, the spouse. The lord of this house, the saptamesh, is accordingly also called the jayesh. It is from this bhava that one learns of the native's married and household life, and of the wife's nature, appearance, character, and the like.
The Karaka: Shukra
The karaka (the natural significator) of this bhava is Shukra, Venus. At sunset, the Surya (the Sun) stands in the seventh bhava.
