Favourable Results

The native (the person whose chart it is) is of sharp, penetrating intellect, as handsome as Kamadeva (the god of love), refined in taste, noble, steadfast, humble, and an excellent speaker. He takes an interest in photography, painting, the shastras (the scriptures and sciences), and similar pursuits, and employment connected with the law and advocacy yields excellent results for him. He keeps performing unusual kinds of deeds. He is the most distinguished in his family line (kula) and rises to become an excellent minister (mantri, a counsellor of state). He passes a life of splendour and prosperity, earning his wealth through diligent effort in the service of the state. His wife too is beautiful, virtuous, and blessed with sons, and she is skilled in giving him conjugal pleasure (rati sukha); the native himself, however, is at times detached towards women. Friends are glad to meet him, his opponents remain subdued before him, and in his virtues he surpasses even his father. Like King Janaka (the sage-king who dwelt in the world yet remained inwardly unattached), the native lives a detached life even while remaining amid worldly affairs, and he stays foremost in dharma and religious observance. After marriage the rise of his fortune (bhagyodaya) grows all the greater, and he is adept in his travels.

Unfavourable Results

If Guru (Jupiter) stands under an inauspicious influence, the native receives no honour or respect within his own home. He bears ill will towards his father and his elders (gurujan, his teachers and respected seniors). His sons become a source of worry to him; often there are no sons at all, and even an adopted son brings him no happiness. And if Guru lies in its sign of debilitation (neecha rashi), it is inauspicious for the wife's longevity (ayu). He carries on an illicit relationship with a woman of higher standing than his own, and he suffers loss through the company of sadhus (ascetics and holy men).
