12th House — Vyaya Bhav
losses, liberation, foreign lands
The Vyaya Bhava, the House of Expenditure and Loss
The twelfth bhava is the twelfth of the twelve houses, a domain of life rather than a mere astronomical division. It is known as the vyaya bhava, the house of expenditure and loss. The lord of this house is accordingly called the vyayesha. It is from this bhava that one judges whether the native will be extravagant or thrifty, whether foreign travel will occur or not, and similar matters.
The Karaka: Shani
The karaka (the natural significator) of this bhava is Shani, Saturn.
