The Bhagya Bhava, the House of Fortune
The ninth bhava is the ninth of the twelve houses, a domain of life rather than a mere astronomical division. It is known as the bhagya bhava, the house of fortune, and the lord of this house is accordingly called the bhagyesh, the lord of fortune. This is a bhava of great importance, for one's bhagya, which reflects the fruits of the karma of previous births, is known from this very house.
