Jupiter in the 9th House
Dharma Bhav — dharma, fortune, higher learning
Favourable Results
The native (the person whose chart it is) is a performer of meritorious deeds (punya karma), learned, an observer of sacred vows (vrati), and wise, and he stands foremost among renowned men. He is wealthy yet free of greed, and pure in conduct. He is of a saintly nature, and he adds to the renown (kirti) of his kula (his lineage). He attains higher education and is dear to women. He receives the love of his sons and of his brothers and kinsmen, and his house and home are beautiful and grand. The native keeps excellent relations with the officers of the state, with ministers, and the like, and he himself becomes a leader, a chief, or a high official. He has a taste for all the shastras (the sacred scriptures), and he meets with special success in the fields of the jeweller's trade, teaching, editing, publishing, law, and education. In religious matters he allows neither sloth nor any obstacle (vighna) to interrupt his daily sandhya (twilight prayer), vandana (devotional praise), puja (ritual worship), dhyana (meditation), and the like.
These samskaras (the formative, refining influences) he has received from his father. Through the science of yoga (yoga vidya), through teaching, and through knowledge, the powers of foresight (the seeing of what is to come) and of intuition awaken within the native. Not only his blessing but even his curse proves fruitful and yields auspicious results.
Unfavourable Results
If Guru (Jupiter) is afflicted, the native is given to outward show, proud, narrow in his views, and selfish. Through pointless talk and conduct he is brought to humiliation. Should he turn nastik (an atheist, a denier of God), he passes a life that is poor and sorrowful. And on account of his sons, too, worry stays with him.
