Venus in the 8th House
Randhra Bhav — longevity, transformation, occult
Favourable Results
When Shukra (Venus) occupies the 8th house (the Randhra Bhava, also called the Ayu Bhava, the house of longevity, transformation, and the occult), the native (the person whose chart it is) is long-lived, large-eyed, very strong, wealthy, fearless, of virtuous conduct, and dear to all. He draws happiness from livestock wealth (pashu-dhana) and owns excellent land as well. He is a servant of the state (a raja-sevak) and is honoured by the government. He repays his father's debt. He gains through partnership. His wife is self-respecting, full of forbearance, of noble nature, and trustworthy, and she is a sincere well-wisher for him; whatever word leaves her tongue (especially an ill one) is sure to come true. The native's death comes peacefully at a tirtha (a place of pilgrimage).
Unfavourable Results
If Shukra yields inauspicious results, the native becomes sickly, quarrelsome, given to aimless wandering, wicked, destitute, of bad character, adulterous, and given to idle talk. He gains wealth only with great difficulty, though at times he lives like a wealthy man. He stays anxious about his wife and son. His wife is of a harsh nature, so the native generally gets by under her dominance. If Shukra is afflicted (dushita), the native suffers secret diseases (gupta-roga). Shukra also proves inauspicious for the native's mother.
