Rahu in the 2nd House
Dhan Bhav — wealth, speech, family
Favourable Results
When Rahu (the north lunar node, a shadow graha) occupies the 2nd house (the Dhana Bhava, the house of wealth, speech, and family), the native (the person whose chart it is) is illustrious, fearless, and happy. He bears a mark on his chin. In his own homeland he struggles a great deal, but residing in another land he becomes especially wealthy. He keeps his wealth (dhana) and valuables (dravya) carefully guarded; yet, though he is as rich as Kubera (the lord of wealth, treasurer of the gods), he is unable to make use of his wealth. He becomes a minister or a high official. He earns wealth from trade in buffaloes, meat, fish, leather, and the like. He obtains the happiness of household life (grihasthi). His enemies are destroyed of their own accord. If he is connected with a religious institution, the native becomes a mathadhisha (the head of a matha, a monastic order).
Unfavourable Results
The native is a liar, insolent in speech, indiscreet, arrogant, and harsh-tongued. His nose is large and his teeth are uneven and crooked, or else he suffers from diseases of the mouth and teeth. He does not even like to give alms to a beggar, though he himself will seize what belongs to others. Such a native suffers loss of wealth through embezzlement, theft, and the like. He opposes his kinsmen and relatives, and falls under the sway of wicked people. He lives in fear of injury from weapons and the like, or he undergoes punishment by the state (rajdanda). In life such a native has to endure much opposition. He cannot state his point clearly, or else he prattles uselessly. If Rahu is joined with malefic grahas (paap grahas, malefic planets) or stands under their aspect (drishti, the gaze a graha casts), he has relations with more than one woman, and he suffers distress on account of his son.
