Favourable Results

The native (the person whose chart it is) is happy, honoured by the state, illustrious, of keen intellect, and compassionate. He is free of greed. He is of excellent character and of a calm, peaceful nature. He is the head of his family (kula, his lineage) and a devotee of the deva-guru (Brihaspati, the preceptor of the gods). He is held in honour in his own locality. In his home, religious rites, the chanting of mantras, and the like resound continually, and learned, scholarly debates are held there. He obtains vehicles of a superior kind and houses set amid gardens and orchards. Even his enemies (shatru) praise him, and he triumphs over them. He gains wealth from his forefathers and through royal favour (rajakripa, the favour of the state). His steadfastness in dharma (righteous duty) and his spiritual inclinations prove auspicious for him. He is master of a life as opulent as that of Devaraja Indra (Indra, the king of the gods).

Unfavourable Results

The native is deceitful. Through arrogance, through indulgence in liquor or in the wives of others, and by holding his own intellect to be supreme, he brings ruin upon his own kula. If the drishti (aspect, the gaze a graha casts) of malefic grahas (paap graha), and the like, falls upon it, he is denied the comfort of a home and must dwell in the houses of others. He enjoys little happiness, too, from his mother or his father, and discord (dvesha) persists with his brothers and kinsmen. Even after attaining aishvarya (opulence, lordly wealth), such a native remains unhappy at heart and discontented. He does not come into ancestral wealth or property, and must earn his wealth by his own effort.
