Favourable Results

The native (the person whose chart it is) is valiant and courageous, fond of travel, learned, an enjoyer of life's pleasures, and wealthy. He is wise, of sharp intellect, skilled in reasoning, and an empiricist (one who trusts only what can be directly seen and proven); he speaks little. When he does speak, his words carry considerable weight with others. He earns renown in the world and undertakes foreign journeys. The native's udar agni (digestive fire) and powers of digestion are intense, so his appetite is keen. For lawyers and doctors this Mangala (Mars) forms a well-known yoga (a planetary combination that produces a result); and in any case some close relative in his household is connected with the medical profession. In worldly matters the native loves justice. Whatever the financial condition of the native's parents may be, he and his children, grandchildren, and the like will lead a prosperous life. If the native's elder brother is living, then from the birth of his own child the native will rise higher and higher.

Unfavourable Results

If Mangala is under inauspicious influence, the native is poor, devoid of happiness, sonless, wicked and cruel in nature, ungrateful, of sinful mind, and a tale-bearer. He seldom enjoys the comfort of a good job. He stays afflicted by diseases of the abdomen, and of vata (wind) and kapha (phlegm). He suffers an injury to the right leg from fire or from a weapon. The native's desires remain intense, and so he never finds contentment in life. He gains no happiness from friends, wife, and son. One or two of his children are lost, whether in the womb or after birth. He is punished by the wrath of the state (rajkop). These unfavourable results generally come to pass at night.
