When Shukra (Venus) occupies the 10th house (the Karma Bhava, the house of career, status, and authority), the native (the person whose chart it is) is wealthy, pure of heart, noble, thoughtful, renowned, influential, and worthy of respect. He gains wealth through agriculture, through dealings with farmers, and through business connected with women, or he is employed in state or government service, or he becomes an officer of the treasury (khazana). He earns renown through his versatile, all-round intellect (chaturmukhi buddhi). All his undertakings reach completion. He enjoys the comfort of vehicles (vahana sukha). He is deeply attached to his own capital (his accumulated savings). The native holds faith (shraddha) in dharma, and on many occasions he has yajnas (Vedic fire sacrifices) and similar rites performed.

Unfavourable Results

If Shukra is under a malefic influence (paap prabhava, the influence of malefic grahas), the native is a hypocrite, contentious, quarrelsome, and self-indulgent, and through his own delusion he ruins work that was coming together for him. The native is adulterous. Because of excessive indulgence with women, his semen (virya) becomes incapable of producing offspring, and on account of his illicit relationships he is dishonoured in society as well. If Shukra is afflicted (dushit, vitiated by an adverse influence), his wife too is very lustful, and she herself forms relations with other men.
