Mercury in the 11th House
Labha Bhav — gains, income, aspirations
Favourable Results
When Budha (Mercury) occupies the 11th house (the Labha Bhava, the house of gains, income, and aspirations), the native (the person whose chart it is) is handsome, free of disease, possessed of much wealth, learned, renowned, fortunate, of a joyful disposition, and well-mannered. He is curious about many vidyas (branches of learning). He earns his wealth through craft, art, writing, and trade. He is certainly blessed with several daughters (kanya-ratna, "daughter-jewels"), and he earns considerable wealth for their dowry and related expenses. He even secures monetary gain from among his enemies. He enjoys pleasures and comforts (bhoga) of many kinds. He is dear to his own people, and especially dear to women. He generally behaves with affection toward all whom he meets and mixes with, and he stands firm upon any word he has given. His servants and attendants are obedient, and they serve such a native devotedly, to his comfort.
Unfavourable Results
If Budha is under an inauspicious influence, the native earns his wealth by wrongful means (kumarg, the crooked path). Through his own foolishness he spoils work that was coming together, and he suffers loss of wealth. Because he resorts to amulets and the like in magic and sorcery (jadu-tona), he brings ruin upon himself. His appetite is poor (he feels little hunger).
