Mars in the 8th House

Randhra Bhavlongevity, transformation, occult

Favourable Results

The native (the person whose chart it is) is accustomed to living a simple, ordinary life. He works hard by his own effort. He keeps his word in full. He is of a justice-loving nature and is able to stand up to his enemies (shatru). He is an excellent judge of gems (ratna). He is prominent among the wealthy people of his own class. He takes part in politics. He has few children. Often he has no younger brother. If Mangala (Mars) is under the aspect (drishti, the gaze a graha casts) of benefic grahas, the native has a disease-free body and a long life. Prosperity increases in his home. The native gains excellent benefit to his health from yoga-asanas (yogic postures).

Unfavourable Results

Mangala in the 8th house, like Mangala in the 4th house, is not merely productive of unfavourable results; it also obstructs the favourable results of the other grahas. Often circumstances, and his friends too, do not cooperate with him. Even with great effort, his desires go unfulfilled. He himself, too, speaks improperly, is merciless, lacking in wealth, and given to slandering others. The native's body often remains afflicted with serious diseases, such as sangrahani (chronic dysentery, sprue), gupta roga (secret, venereal diseases), and diseases of the blood (rudhira), of morbid disorders (vikara), and of pitta (bile); or else scars from weapons (shastra), surgical operations, and the like remain on his body. It is even possible that his death itself comes about by a weapon or some such means.
