Ketu in the 1st House
Tanu Bhav — self, body, personality
Favourable Results
When Ketu (the south lunar node, a shadow graha) is under a favourable influence, the native (the person whose chart it is) gains fixed, immovable property or royal splendour, along with the happiness of a son (putra sukha). He is given to travel and wandering. Along with the growth of his wealth, his shamelessness in matters of desire (kama) also increases. He obtains excellent results in government service and at the royal court. It may be that his birth takes place at his maternal grandparents' home (nanihal), or that at the time of birth some relative from there is present. If the native is given to religious contemplation, then through meditation (dhyana) and austerity (tapa) he can attain the knowledge of Brahman (brahma-jnana) and thereby attain liberation (moksha).
Unfavourable Results
The native is timid, agitated, untruthful, ungrateful, sorrowful, devoid of lustre, restless, and keeps bad company. He suffers from a vata-related disorder (a wind or rheumatic ailment) or a chest complaint. His mind remains beset by delusion, pointless worry, and anxiety. He faces strife among his kinsmen, fear from wicked people, and worry over his wife, children, and the like. His wife may suffer affliction and infirmity, and it may even go as far as her death. He is removed from his post in service and the like. His maternal uncle (mama) suffers hardship.
