The native (the person whose chart it is) is happy, well-conducted, learned, charming, of handsome body, long-lived, endowed with many virtues, fortunate, generous, and of a patient and steady nature. He is fond of fine attire and of foods prepared with ghee (clarified butter). He likewise wins honour, respect, and royal favour from the state (rajya). He triumphs over his adversaries. He is venerated in society and is himself as majestic as a king. He has an interest in higher learning (uccha vidya) and earns wealth from the field of education. He studies literature, and religious scriptures in particular, and he also takes an interest in grammar (vyakarana shastra, the science of grammar). He is master of a prosperous life and an excellent home. Such a native, prompted from within, spends his wealth on auspicious deeds such as yajna (the sacrificial fire ritual), charity (dana), and the like. He has several long-lived sons. From his wife too he obtains happiness and contentment. He is one who performs religious rites, meditation (dhyana), and penance (tapasya), and the like. He becomes an eminent sadhu (holy ascetic), and the blessing he bestows never goes in vain. Even after death, the native attains svargaloka (the heavenly realm).

Unfavourable Results

The native is of a delicate body. If the drishti (aspect, the gaze a graha casts) of cruel, malefic grahas falls upon Guru, there is affliction in the body. In life he sometimes suffers distress from false rumours. When Guru is placed in a debilitated sign (neecha rashi) or an enemy's sign (shatru rashi), the native is ungrateful, fickle-minded, devoid of learning, licentious, and arrogant, and he engages in base deeds. He remains without sons. He undergoes suffering in the sixth or the twelfth year of his life. By wishing ill upon others, he brings ruin upon himself as well.
